ORP: Every Day's a Holiday

Lena pulled up to the house in her car. She put the vehicle in park and turned off the ignition but left the keys in. The radio was still on at a rather loud volume, she was listening to a new album from Thirty Seconds to Mars. Mostly the music was on to psych herself out, to prepare herself for battle. She did not do.....social event. She was enjoying the beat of the music and the lyrics, “Honest to God I'll break your heart…Tear you to pieces and rip you apart.” she sang along. Lena flipped her visor down and looked into the mirror, making sure everything on her face was still in place, that her hair looked somewhat decent.

She was mainly here because of Lincoln; he was meeting his new team. Lena was mostly there for moral support. He had been a friend over the past few years; they had met while she was stationed on Atlantis. He could never keep his tech in check and it always seemed to need tweaking. Lena was new to Homeworld Command, having been stationed at the ship-base, where they built Earth’s spaceships. So she would come into contact with these people eventually as well, better get introductions over with and see what she was dealing with.

Lena grabbed her messenger bag, took her keys out of the ignition and tossed them into her bag. Reaching for another bag on the floor of the passenger side, she pulled the strap of the messenger over her head and then grabbed a container on the seat. Getting all the things she needed, Lena finally exited out of her Ontario plated Honda and locked the doors.

The house was pretty impressive, but it had far too many windows for her liking and open spaces. Open spaces where fine, as long as they were enclosed far from public view. She didn’t like the thought of people outside the house being able to see what was going on inside the house. She entered the house and toed off her flats by the door. Even being in the States, she found it felt really weird to keep shoes on in a house. ”Hey Link, I made cheesecake!” she greeted
