History
Personal History:
Ayden was born to a small family in Colorado Springs, Colorado in the year of 1969. She was born a twin and her brother, James and her, grew up very close alongside their older brother David. Her father was an Air Force Officer, a pilot, and the family moved often, never staying in one place for more than two or three years, which had been rough on the children but they all learned to deal with it rather well. Before she reached 7th grade, her family decided to enroll her into a military boarding school, the same one that her brother's attended. So starting in 7th grade, Ayden began to attend the New York Military Academy. She was part of JROTC that the college offered as an extra-curricular as well as volleyball, cross country, and the National Honor Society.
Studies were always extremely important to the young woman and seeing how she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her father, she applied for the United States Air Force Academy. She was accepted and chose Behavioral Science as her major with a minor in Arabic. In college she continued to play volleyball and participate in cross country. She graduated at the top of her class and instead of taking the path she wanted, the young woman went to flight school. She longed for her father's approval and she thought that by following in his footsteps in every way possible she would get it. Throughout her time in the military, Ayden was constantly pushing herself to further her degree. She attended an online school to obtain a Master's in Psychology and then later a PhD, both specializing in one of her favorite areas of study, Forensic Psychology.
Ayden was first introduced to the Stargate Program in 1997. She was almost immediately enthralled with everything that she was offered and enjoyed spending time learning more. At that point in time Ayden had been engaged to a young Marine whom she had met in Iraq, Chad. They had known each other for quite sometime and Ayden had fallen head over heels for him, thinking that she could have her forever story for once. That all came crashing down when he turned into a man she felt like she didn't even know. The engagement was called off when she walked in on him sleeping with her 'best friend' and she hasn't looked back since. They had broken up right before her transfer to Atlantis.
When the Pegasus Galaxy was discovered and the first teams were sent through the gate, Ayden volunteered to go, knowing that they would need someone with her expertise and knowledge in that Galaxy. She then spent the next year there, learning and completely loving everything about the new galaxy; it was something she never dreamed she would see so she took in every moment she spent there. With a new assignment heading her way, a transfer to the Delta site, Ayden knew that it was time to start fresh, even though she did not want to leave the Pegasus Galaxy. She did know that she had to go wherever her job called her to though so that is where she went.
Upon her arrival at the Delta Site, Ayden's old skills came back into play. She was made CO of one of the flight branches the base had and she was back up in the sky. Things went rather well for the first year and she enjoyed it, even met a young man, a Royal Marine, by the name of Alavair Leah, whom was able to help her get through the pains of the past. The two got married a few months later and things seemed to be going well for them for once. They were happy and despite all the danger they had in this new galaxy they were safe. Ayden really started to believe that things could look up for all of them until she was recalled to Earth to help with the Stargate Academy. Her husband was on Earth for a few months, training Royal Marines in London, and the two saw each other as frequently as they could, but things came to an end when he was sent back to the Delta Site.
A month after Alavair's return to the Delta Site Ayden found out she was pregnant. Before she could get word to her husband, she received news of his demise on a mission. Struck with grief the pilot was unsure what to do, but she knew that her husband would have never wanted her to get rid of their child. She went through with the pregnancy, working as long as she was allowed before taking a short leave to give birth to a little boy, who she named Alavair after his late father, but now the child is being raised by a nanny the woman hired, unable to cope with her grief over her husband's death. Ayden returned from her maternity leave to a job at Homeworld.

Personality:
Ayden was, and always has been a woman that is hard to read. She prides herself on being able to remain cool under pressure and to keep her thoughts centered when there is a crisis. For those that don't know her, she could come off as cold-hearted but she's anything but. Ayden isn't one to wear her emotions on her sleeve, her father always taught her to keep them to herself. She was always the woman in a man's world growing up with three brothers and attending a military boarding school, and later joining the military. She knows that she has to fight twice as hard to get half of what her male counterparts have and instead of discouraging her, it pushes her forward. She's a competitive woman who is driven by pushing herself to be the best.

Stargate
Well, talk about being reassigned time and time again. Ayden always seemed to get the short end of the stick when it came to things like this. One day she was assigned here then the next day there. Talk about confusing. She had only just gotten back from Earth before she was asked to suit up and meet SD-2 in the gateroom so that they could go and rescue some people - or something else like that. Of course she immediately obliged and did as she was told.
It was weird being a civilian again but at the same time it had it perks - kind of. Mainly because she was still doing everything she had done previously. Anyway, that's besides the point. As she walked around helping different natives get only when they needed to survive a young girl came over to her, tears streaming down her face and she was saying something about her mom. Ayden bent down and wiped the tears off the little girls' cheek and took her hand. "Come with me, sweetie. We'll see if we can find her." The young girl looked up at her and smiled slightly and Ayden gave her a soft smile in return.
That's when the Stargate opened.
Ayden already knew that they had to get everyone to the caves that the native man had yelled about. "Alright everyone, let's go!" Ayden bellowed as she motioned for a group of young adults to follow her. "Just go, leave anything that will weigh you down here." Ayden sneered and watched as the young teenagers took off with the rest of their village. Ayden began to run as well, coming up the group's six, her rifle in her hand and her gaze going back to the fighters for a few moments before she focused her gaze ahead. They were going to make it.
