Personal History: Was a good student in school above average scores in Physics, Applicable Mathematics and English as well as Geography and History.
Sort of a loner at school with only one friend "Kira Natsumi" who was a straight A student with a wild imagination which she wrote stories about their great adventures on other worlds. She left school and became a teacher.
After joining the military at 20 as a junior officer I found a Best friend "Nikita", Also a young pilot, and made many friends in the service.

A few years after being brought into the stargate programme and defending Antarctica base, Nolen learned about an expedition starting up called Delta. The Grieving man needed a change to get away from the loss of his brother. After applying, the Nolen was accepted and it was the best decision he has ever made. After joining the Delta site for a year and becoming the Commanding officer of the 301st, the pilot joined up with Ida Task Force, becoming the Commanding Officer of first the squadron, Joining ex Delta pilots and friends including Des, Jason and Leon . The 356th Commander made it a point to make his pilots feel at home and a part of a family. After one Fated mission Des found a lone child on a space craft the woman took the child in and became like a mother to her at which point the whole squadron became closer. In fact it was Nolen and their Commander Harrison who convinced the IOA to leave serenity with Des. After Des left, Nolen continued to guide the 365th for a year before he finally took the promotion and a training job at Peterson Air Force base. He lasted there 1 year.

He cares a lot for his friends and will do anything for them, but to make this man an enemy would be the worst idea of all. Has a fatherly soft spot for Des and Serenity.

Nolen walked slowly down the rocky corridors of the testing site called Argo Base. He had walked these corridors many times in his 2 months here already but today he had more than usual on his mind. The Horizon would be here in a few weeks time for the final test and while Nolen was over joyed at the opportunity of seeing his wife and daughter he had a bad feeling that he couldn't shake and he knew his gut feeling were nine times out of ten right. Still stargate command had sent both the USS Carter and the USS Horizon here to observe the final testing. All around the base personnel were getting the base ready for the 'Big Brass' as Nolen had called them to visit soon. Nolen almost ran into one lieutenant running with his personal belongings, she had more than likely been kicked out of her room for one of the brass to stay in. Nolen was lucky he could stay on the USS Zodiac if need be.
Nolen swung the corner into the large mess of the bass. Here they had everyone mixed, and Nolen always had a table in a quiet corner for him thanks to a master chief he helped out of a stick situation. Nolen picked up the coffee that the Master chief had made for him when he saw him enter and Nolen smiled "Thanks George" he said and then grabbed a chicken sandwich and walked off to his table to sit and think.
