History
Personal History:
Katrina was born and raised in Thaxton Virginia where she was the 5th child amongst 4 brothers. They made her into a tomboy by age 2 since all of her brothers are 10 years or older than her. She was the "unexpected" child who was still loved and greatly protected by her older siblings.
Born into a military family, Katrina got use to seeing her father sparingly. As a Command Sergeant Major of the United States Army, it required him to travel a lot and he left his family at home to be reared in a respectable community. When her brothers were old enough three of the four followed in their father's footsteps by joining the armed forces.
During a tactical mission in Desert Shield, her two twin brothers were killed by enemy crossfire. Only 2 days later, did she find out her oldest brother Sam was killed by a barrack bombing. All 3 deaths were veered as instant and painless which didn’t make it any easier on the Logan family. Cal, her brother, encouraged Katrina to do something after high school to keep herself busy.
Katrina took a year off and spent it with her family. She decided to one day become a Field Medic and try to save as many lives on the field as she could. It would be her brother’s legacy living on through her. At the age of 20, she began schooling at the University of Virginia School of Nursing. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
So on her 26th birthday, Katrina signed up for the United States Army to become a Field Medic. She was placed on a team of elite personal to be their field medic on a covert mission to detain some military leaders of Iraq. It was on that mission, she saved the lives of two soldiers who had sustained shrapnel injuries from an explosion in a nearby abandoned building. Upon returning home, her commanding officer gave her the opportunity to be relieved of medicine on the field and possibly do something even more important.
Although she knew nothing of the Stargate program, she was anxious to once again help out in the field and possibly save a few more lives. When she was accepted to the Delta Expedition, she started out on a hard note placed on a team that nearly got her and her teammates killed on their first mission. Through time, she learned to be more combative and better with treating her team medically if needed on the spot during missions. During one mission, Katrina was abducted by the Ori and trained to kill with no mercy. When she was finally brought back to Delta, the effects of the Ori began to wear off, but it left her with the combat ability. When she concentrates hard enough, she can place herself back into that roll which makes her an asset to any mission. After leaving Delta for personal reasons, she was asked personally by Colonel Samantha Carter to join the Stargate Homeworld Security. With a little bit of hesitation, she excepted hoping to continue to improve her skills in combat, nursing, and possible leadership roles.
Family: (father) Robert - deceased; (mother) Shannon – deceased
(brothers) Sam-oldest, David and Dean-twins, and Cal
Training and Education: Bachelor of Science degree/Trained for the Olympics in Archery and Marksmanship, but failed to qualify. Advanced medical training for nursing allowed for her rank to be promoted quicker while serving on the Delta Expedition.
Service Record: Served in the US Army as a Field Medic and Support for 6 years. Served with the Stargate Delta Expedition for 4+ years making her way to Major (see Training)
Skills: Good with handguns and archery
Personality: Seriously?? if you don't know Kat by now....
With emotions being pulled, tugged, and ripped apart so often, it takes alot of effort to keep the stern, abrasive, and kindred spirit going on the outside. People that know Katrina and know of her past know of the hardships she has endured.
Being a medical officer also means showing her mother instincts and caring personality more often than on the field. Those injured or in need of medical care will see the soft, loving side of Kat that makes patients feel better by the smile on her face and of course a good pain killer. On the field, her mind is focused and always counting her chicklets to be sure they are safe and sound. Thats where the abrasive behavior is more pronounced.
When not on duty or sealing an open wound, Katrina can be a little harder to read. Those that know her can say basically what is on their minds, but those that don't usually tread lightly.

Sand. It was everywhere and it gets into everything. It’s one of those annoyances that when going to the beach, you manage to bring half of it home in either your bathing suit or sandals. It was harsh on the face when a sandstorm arose and the “Ghan” was infamous for those coming out of nowhere catching everyone off guard and resorting to survival techniques. Afghanistan was also known for a creature called the camel spider. Katrina had never really seen any of these up close and personal and never had any intentions on doing so. They can grow to extreme lengths like a small dog and the major even saw a video of one eating a lizard. So this mission was already starting off on a lovely start to the medic.
Jumping from the chopper, the sand squished through the tan boots that covered the matching BDUs. Everyone was issued these uniforms without any identification of whom they really were. Kat also carried her pack of goodies. If they found anyone injured it was her duty to proceed with any help necessary to save lives. She also kept a couple surprises in there that were usually not regulated by the Stargate program, but with the missions this officer had been on in recent months, what they didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them and if it saved a life, so be it.
Again, the team had changed. Her commanding officer was still the same, which made it quite comfortable for the major to be in his presence. They may have been a couple in secret, but he still was the only one she’d prefer to be in combat with besides Garcia. The introduction of Johnson gave the medic a bit of concern with his track record, but it wouldn’t stop her from performing her duties. She honestly looked forward to new faces every time. Nerves were still on edge from the miscarriage, but having finally closed that chapter of her life and getting even closer with the man of her dreams made the journey to healing more manageable.
"Remember the briefing folks....We can't let our true mission slip out. We may need support from some of the personnel, and information will be disemminated as necessary, but only with my or Major Leah's approval first. Any questions."
Her eyes diverted around to see if there were questions. She didn’t have any at the moment and was still eyeing the ground for creepy crawlies non-chalantly. Oh yeah, this was going to fun.
