Azalea Andre ran through the paths of the local park with Ember running along beside her. It was almost as if when Logan left, all the thoughts from the mission came flooding back as well. Music was no longer numbing the thoughts, so the next option - running. Ember needed to get out for a bit, she needed think, it was a win win situation. Sweat was dripping down the face as Ember was panting hard beside her. It was impressive that the mutt was able to keep up. Destiny definitely had trained her well. Any dog would have collapsed by now, but not this pup. The cool breeze blew across the face as it seemed to help still any of the racing thoughts. Knowing that the dog was most likely needing to rest, the brunette took the path towards the exit, slowing up to a steady jog. The two jogged down the street that lead back towards the complex, finally slowing to a complete stop once they reached the steps.

Apartment Complex

The pair walked into the building, heading Azalea's door, both breathing hard. As the young woman dug out the keys, the eyes glanced back at Lucas' door, feeling a twig of sadness not seeing the young man often as they once did off duty. Ever since Hoover came back from Saudi Arabia, the same woman had been coming in and out of his place. Normally, the brunette would be all over trying to figure out who she was and what happened, but ever since dating Logan, digging around in Lucas' life wasn't at the top of the list. Though now, she was starting to miss the turd.
Unclasping Ember's leash as they stepped into the apartment, Azalea thought back to how the two met. He snuck into her apartment, wanting to avoid the woman who was still staying over. Pretending to be is girlfriend, Andre went over, caused a scene and the woman left, starting a cycle between the two. Whenever Lucas brought him a girl he would either, send Azalea a rescue text and she would come bailing him out, or simply crash on her couch till the said woman would leave. It was how the bond of brother and sister was formed. Those first weeks starting at Homeworld, it was conversing with Lucas those mornings after camping out on the couch that saved her. Whether knowing it or not, Lucas was the first real friend the Lieutenant had made here. They annoyed each other, fought back and forth, and picked on each other, but that was the way the two showed they cared about each other.
Glancing back at Lucas' closed door, the young woman stared at it for a moment before walking into the kitchen. Opening the fridge, she grabbed two beers, opening one for herself, holding the other one in the free hand. Azalea took a swig from the opened one in before setting them down on the table. Grabbing one of Logan's hoodies she had him leave behind, the brunette threw it over her sweaty outfit, grabbed the keys and beers before stepping out, closing up the door behind and walking across the hall.
Azalea gave a light rap on the door with the knuckle taking another swig from the beer, thankful that the hair was still in a ponytail, or would look much worse. Knowing her luck, Lucas was probably busy with the unnamed girl, or was out doing god knows what. If he was bringing home the same girl night after night, it was safe to say he wasn't at a bar - unless there was other guys friends she didn't know about. She heard movement coming from the other side, praying it wasn't the other female about to answer. That would be awkward. How do you explain that? What was she even planning to say to Lucas? I'm nosy and want to know what changed in your life? Even if that was true, probably the best thing to say.
Seeing the door open, the Lieutenant gave a small smile, holding out the beer as some sort of unneeded peace offering. "As much as I thought I was never going to say this, I miss seeing you camped out on my couch. It's been awhile, and since I don't have many girl friends to do the quote unquote girl talk with, kind of have to come to you with stuff. Think you can make time for the annoying girl across the hall who misses her makeshift big brother?" she asked looking up at Lucas with a soft smile. Yeah that was better than hounding him with a zillion of questions. That would all come with time. Right now, there was just honesty, and the honest truth she missed him. Why did she get the feeling he might use that to his advantage? Right, none blood siblings. That was why.
