History
Personal History: Born in Kodiak, Alaska on March 12, 1969. Father was a Coast Guard rescue swimmer, and toted Robert around from station to station. His mother died shortly after he was born, and Robert was raised mostly by his older sister. Following high school in California, Robert enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. At that time, his father had just been promoted to Captain in the Coast Guard, and was the Captain of the Port for San Diego. While his father was initially disappointed at his choice in careers, he supported his son in the end. Robert graduated from Boot Camp, ending up assigned to the Reserves in North Carolina. There, he pursued his degree in Ancient Cultures & Languages at the University of Virginia Richmond. Upon completion of his bachelor’s degree, he applied for OCS, which he attended the following fall and winter. He has no children, with the military being his family.
Family
Father: United States Coast Guard – Vice Admiral (Ret.) James Walker, resides in Texas
Mother: Waitress -- Deceased, complications of childbirth March 13, 1969
Sister: Vice-President of Public Affairs, Cenrtix Corporation
Training and Education:
Service Record: Attended Navy JROTC in high school, eventually achieving the rank of Cadet Commander. Due to his time in JROTC, he was promoted to Private First Class upon completion of basic training for the Marine Corps on October 3, 1986. When Robert graduated OCS, his reviewing officer described him as “one of the best officer candidates I have seen during my time here.” His first posting as a Second Lieutenant was as an EOD team leader at Camp Pendelton. His CO at the time, Lieutenant Colonel Patrick White, kept a close eye on him. Two years later, he was told that he was selected for Force Reconnaissance. He accepted, and endured the grueling training that came afterward. As a Recon Marine, he underwent several operations, known and clandestine ones alike. In early 2004, he was slated for Company Commander of the 1st Force Reconnaissance Company. However, he was approached the same week and briefed on the Stargate Program. Torn between the two options, he hesitated on which one to choose. He had served faithfully with Force Recon most of his career and would be the top officer in the company, as well as be promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. However, the Stargate Program was too good of an offer to pass up. Robert chose to stay a Major and join Stargate Command. After accepting a role, he was trained as an SG team leader, ending up with the Delta Site expedition.
After a series of classified events and physical recovery, Walker accepted a position with Homeworld Command.

Outside Command Post
As the teams converged on the command post, SD-3's technical expert spoke up, and Walker replied, "We're going to have to determine what type of cooperation we can expect without forcing our hand first, Sergeant." The forcing of the hand the Colonel was referring to would involve a phone call to Washington, followed by a follow-up back to the unit commander ordering him to assist SD-3 and SD-4 using any means necessary. Hopefully, that would not be necessary, to avoid any serious trust issues. Flashing his nameless Department of Defense 'Red Level' identification badge with only a picture and bar code, Walker waited as an MP outside the command post scanned the card and approved entry. Turning to the teams, Walker replied, "Three-Five, Four-Six, and Four-Five, you're with me. Three-Four and Four-Four, take the others to the staging area and stand by - maintain operational prudence." Loosely translated, Robert was telling them to keep their mouths shut until the senior officers returned. Unless they were out of earshot of any non-SGCers, the teams would be using all radio callsigns for this mission.

Command Post
Led inside, Walker, Logan, Leah, and St Savage were shown into the central area, complete with a full staff of technical experts and operational duties to perform any mission necessary. The soldiers at their consoles did not even look up from their work, and the SD officers were greeted by a tall, weathered man, "Colonel Matthew Hopkinson, Battalion commander. Welcome to Ranger Bat, folks." Nodding in response, Walker answered, "Colonel Robert Walker, USMC ... you've been briefed on our situation?."
Walker and the other senior officers' names would be revealed, to help foster a more trustworthy relationship with the Rangers. "If a briefing is what you'd like to call it," Hopkinson replied. "Basically I was told a unit was coming here to investigate, and to give them what they needed, and here you are." Looking at the other three, the Army Colonel continued, "Going to introduce your battles?" Nodding, Walker said, "Major Logan, US Army ... Major Leah, Royal Marines ... and Lieutenant St Savage, French Air Force." This received an eyebrow raise from the Ranger, who replied, "A jarhead, Army doc, British commando, and a French pilot ... could this get any stranger?"

Smiling slightly, Walker replied, "You haven't hit the tip of the iceberg even yet, Colonel. Special requests or comments for the Colonel?" This last part was directed at the other three officers from the off-world teams.
