History
Personal History:
It was a cold and snowy night when young Levi Rosenberg was born into the world. Two months too soon is what his mother said, a child who was never planned but loved from day one struggled to take its first breath outside the womb. His doctor said that he wouldn't make it, and another said that he would struggle with disabilities for the rest of his life - both were wrong. Levi was a fighter from birth and overcame an obstacle in his first few months of life. The young boy was strong and surprised both doctors and his parents alike at his growth and development from his birth. Levi was born on Eielson Air Force Base, located twenty six miles from Fairbanks, Alaska. His father, an officer in the United States Air Force was a pilot for the 18th Aggressor Squadron and his mother a pediatric surgeon that worked at a nearby hospital. Before Levi was born into the family there were already two older boys: Zachary and Benjamin, both planned children of Eli and Sara, unlike Levi who surprised the couple when they found out she was pregnant.
Levi was a high-risk pregnancy, causing many complications that put his mother on bed rest for much of it and nearly caused the entire family heartbreak when they almost lost him. He proved to be much like his father though, and fought through the adversities, soaring above most children his age. The complications that were posed during his mother's pregnancy caused her to be unable to carry another child, so Levi was the last born to the Rosenberg's. The young man, while smaller than most children, excelled greatly in his formative years - often exceeding the benchmark for others his age and was walking, talking, and potty trained before most. His intelligence was something that was spotted early on and his father, noticing it, focused more attention on him, wanting to raise Levi up with the skills he'd need in his future. The same was done for his brothers, although on a different level.
Levi was the quiet child of the bunch, often finding himself drowned out by the two older boys in his family and took to keeping to himself. He was often dragged into their antics of simply 'being boys' - as their father put it - and were often caught with 'their hands in the cookie jar' by their mother and punished for it. As Levi grew older he became more involved with schoolwork, often finding himself bored in his classes. When he was in elementary school his teachers thought that he suffered from ADD and urged Sara and Eli to take their son to be evaluated. They heeded the advice of Levi's teachers but soon found that it wasn't any disorder that their son suffered from but instead that he was gifted and it was recommend that he be placed in a higher grade to challenge him.
Thus began Levi's path of being the youngest one in his class always. It wasn't ideal for any student and it was hard on Levi at first. Being not only the youngest child in a classroom but the smartest was a hard position to be in but he quickly adjusted to it and excelled. In school he was often ridiculed and picked on for being so quiet and uninterested in things that 'normal boys should be interested in' like girls, drinking, and smoking but his brothers often stood up for him and soon taught him how to do it himself, which he did. Levi was involved in a few fights in school through his life - all being started by others but resulting in him protecting himself and fighting back - putting what he learned from his brothers to use and the teasing and bullying stopped soon after. Sports were a release for young Levi, and from a young age he took part in golf with his father, and lacrosse with his brothers. Mountain Biking was another hobby of his, something that him and Benjamin shared.
From a young age Levi, like his brothers were brought up on strict military doctrine and training thanks to their father and his love for not only his country but for the uniform he wore as well. Instead of punishments that included taking away a treasured possession, Eli enjoyed punishments of a more abstract nature, mostly having to do with physical exertion. Talk back to your mother once? Drop and give him ten. Do it a second time and run a mile. There was a strict code of honor in the home and all three boys learned quickly the do's and don't's of the military lifestyle. Levi was the only one who enjoyed it though and despite him being the last one his father thought would want to join the military he approached his father at the age of eleven and told him of his intentions. From that moment on Levi was molded to be the perfect cadet. His father refused to let Levi even think of enlisting, and instead had his heart (and eventually his son's heart) set on getting into the Air Force Academy.
Despite the love that his parents shared, things didn't work out very smoothly for the pair. His mother, refusing to allow her children to be raised in the "unstable military environment" refused to move her children when Eli got stationed out of Alaska, and instead elected to keep the three boys with her while her husband moved to another base. She did, however, have to move her family off of the base and they moved to Fairbanks, which was only 26 miles away. Eli not being around was hard on the entire family, especially Levi, but the family made it work. Video chats, emails, and even handwritten letters were the norm after that, and despite the distance Levi's father still had a very active roll in making sure that Levi was prepared for the academy. This included daily check-ins from his father, calls to Levi's school, and even appointing a fellow Air Force Pilot, Captain Webster, to help keep Levi on the path he needed to go.
In 2004 his father was medically discharged from the Air Force after losing a limb in what the Air Force (and Eli) said was a training exercise gone wrong. In all actuality, Eli was part of Prometheus F-302 squadron that fought the forces of Anubis over Antarctica. Despite his less than ideal state to be helping his son, Eli still focused intently on helping Levi prepare for the academy, even at such a young age, claiming that there was 'so much good to be done'. His mother, brothers, nor himself understood what his father really meant at that time but Levi continued to push himself to be the best - just like his father wanted.
The young man had the grades to get into the Academy but he needed more and his father pushed him in the direction he should go, making Levi get more involved in his school. Levi was a proud member of the Math, Science and Chess clubs throughout middle and high school, as well as a student athlete. Golf and lacrosse were his sports of choice - in the spring and fall respectively. His summers were spent continuous study, rigorous exercises and volunteer work done for Habitat for Humanity and other programs like it. From a young age he was involved in Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Venturing, although he stopped his attendance in Venturing upon starting high school and instead focused more thoroughly on certifications and wilderness survival - something that he received certification in through the Red Cross.
In high school Levi also picked up another interest - the JROTC program that was offered at his high school - something that his father immediately rolled the young boy in to. Despite his shy and quiet demeanor his teachers saw something in him and put Levi in positions of leadership early on which helped to not only make his self-esteem grow, but to put him in a better frame of mind for the academy. Following in his father's footsteps, Levi took some private pilot lessons and after logging a large number of hours was able to obtain his student license at sixteen and private pilot's license at seventeen.
Between his junior and senior years of high school Levi's summer was spent at a summer seminar at the Air Force Academy, an experience that cemented his goals of attending the academy upon graduation. Levi was able to obtain a couple of nominations for the academy: a congressional nomination, which was submitted from a U.S. Representative, a Military nomination, received due to his father being a Medal of Honor recipient, and a Presidential Nomination, received due to his father being a career officer in the United States Air Force and Levi's status as an AFJROTC Cadet. These nominations along with his academic, athletic, and community service record helped to secure him a coveted spot in the academy.
Physics has always been a passion of Eli's - more specifically learning about the unknown. He has often been sucked into shows about space and the great unknown and took a few extra classes in high school that focused on the study of space. Wormholes, blackholes, antimatter and the like are all studies of interest for this young cadet and upon receiving acceptance into the academy he knew immediately what he wanted to major in. Applied Mathematics came next - another area that he knows a lot about - and since applied mathematics goes hand in hand with physics it was the only logical choice for him.
The first year of the academy was challenging, something that simply pushed Levi to be better and stronger than he was before. The coursework was unlike any he had before, and his choice to double major in Applied Mathematics and Physics was a bit rough to juggle during the first semester. The cadet learned early on that the academy was no joke, and he adjusted fairly well, finding the challenge to be fun and something that pushed him to be even better. Between his freshman and sophomore year Levi was approached about a top secret program - the Stargate Program - and the secret academy that went with it. He was invited to join, accepted - wanting to push himself even further - and soon learned that his father was one of the men who flew in the dogfight over Antarctica, which ultimately cost him a leg. The respect Levi had for his father increased and he realized just how important his work was, especially with the new-found information of the Stargate Program, alien races, and travel to other galaxies.

Personality:
Levi is an extremely intelligent young man who is more focused on his work than anything else. Testing well above the average IQ of a person he finds most things to come easy to him - especially when it comes to math and science. He's a rather shy and can at some times be an awkward young man but he's grown leaps and bounds since his first year at the academy. Social cues aren't his strong point but he has learned when not to say or do something thanks to constant coaching - and let's face it, taunting - from his older brothers.
When placed in a position of leadership this cadet shines, especially if it's where he gets to put his brain to work and buckle down on a project. Although he likes to do his way he understands the value of accepting criticism and listening to others, but he will be quick in shutting an idea down if it could be inefficient. He doesn't often think before he speaks, especially when he's working, and has often been told that his words can be harsh since he has yet to learn when to bite his tongue.
He's always thinking, always analyzing, and there isn't a moment that goes by when he isn't trying to figure out an answer to some problem - whether it directly effects him or just a fleeting thought that passed through his mind. He can become quite excitable when it comes to theories and ideas - and has often been known to ramble them off faster than he can write them down. He enjoys turning his theories and ideas into actual projects and understands how to make it understandable to someone who may not be on the same level he is - and that is only a skill that he recently acquired.
Despite his nerdy nature, Levi is a (somewhat) gifted athlete. Mountain biking is a sport that the young man got into when he was younger, and upon starting the Air Force Academy he joined the fall intramural mountain bike 'team'. Golf and lacrosse also hold special places in his heart, and he participates in both at the academy. He's a competitive and driven individual in all that he does and it's those two qualities that help him not only be an exceptional student but an exceptional athlete as well.
Levi has often been underestimated because of his small frame and quiet nature and he's learned to use it to his advantage. Being the youngest of three boys taught the cadet one thing: always expect the unexpected and he uses that train of thought constantly. He tries to never be caught off-guard but it does happen sometimes, but he quickly learns to never let it happen again. He keeps a cool head while under pressure and is able to deal with stress rather efficiently, using the same calming techniques that his mother taught him which helped her get through her medical training.
Levi doesn't let many people close to him, not because he doesn't want friends, but simply because it's rather hard to make friends when your head is always in a book and you're constantly looking for a new project to start. However, the friends he has are held close to his heart and he holds on tight to them. Around said friends he's been known to be a little more open and a little more lively, but not by much. He isn't as awkward or shy around them, for apparent reasons, but there are moments where it creeps up.
