History
Personal History:
Logan Blackwood was born at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, to a Mr. Richard Blackwood. He never knew his mother, and his father never really talked about the circumstances surrounding his birth. Logan always assumed that he was something of an accident, the byproduct of a careless evening between a newly minted Lieutenant and a local girl at a bar. Thankfully Logan ended up in his father’s care. If he wasn’t the greatest father in the world, financial security does a lot for a boys’ development.
As is common for a military child, Logan traveled about quite a lot in his youth. From Kirtland, to Scott, to Whiteman, to Castle, to Langley, even a stint in Korea. When Logan was 17, however, his father reached the magical age, and retired from the Air Force, at the ripe rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Upon his retirement, Richard Blackwood joined a successful paramilitary security company, accepting lucrative contracts with airports, power plants, and private investors. Pulling retirement from the Government, and six-figure income from his own successful venture, Richard was able to provide great opportunities for his son. Richard eventually neared the top of the ladder at G4S (Formerly Wackenhut Security) and left the field for more official roles.
Logan was an extremely intelligent individual. His IQ was tested at 152, and he successfully completed his GED assessment at age 15. He began taking college courses immediately. Nothing major, just getting this or that out of the way as he traveled. When his father retired, he could finally focus on attending college full time. He was accepted by Duke University, and completed a bachelors degree in Political Science, with a dual in Psychology. He had also, to his father's delight, completed the Air Force Reserve Officer Training program, and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. He trained for, and was eventually assigned to AFSOC, as pararescue. Logan spent 10 years in active duty, and the actions and assignments he specifically participated in are classified. It is speculated, however, that he spent some time in the Stargate Program, specifically SG-19.
Eventually Logan left the armed forces, and found employment working with his father at G4S. Logan led several assignments in Africa and the Middle-East, operating as added security, often privately contracted by the United States Military. Though Logan was an above-average soldier, his true love was psychology. He returned to his alma mater and received his masters degree in Psychology. He is currently in the doctoral program as well, but it has taken a spot on the back burners while he chases after professional merit.
Logan never really maintained any solid love interests. He had his flings, affairs, and liaisons, but never found a woman he could commit to. He often found himself bored with relationships, and with his constant travel, and secretive nature, it made it hard.
Logan did, however, establish a great network of roots across a wide area of expertise, making friends, allies, and brothers in arms. He was both respected and admired among the men he lead in the field - both military and PMC. He also made noteworthy progress in the field of psychology, as it holds a special interest for him.
Logan was working for G4S as a behavioral analyst, working with a small team to plan accordingly for missions, deployments, and assignments of all station. It was something of a game to him (albeit, one that he took seriously) - the game aspect came from his love of challenge. Each person on earth was a very unique snowflake, falling in a precise location. Through educated observance, you could learn anything about a person. By mapping how they function in social settings, their day-to-day habits, public appearances, and even something as overlooked as social media, you could theoretically, and, after a fashion, functionally, predict the behavior and actions of an individual.
It was for his skill that he was recruited to continue his work in behavioral sciences for Homeworld, which is where history stops, the present exists, and future is predicted.

Personality:
Logan Blackwood is something of a strange individual. On the Myers-Briggs test he scored ENTP, although not standard by any means. Marking below 50% in all four areas. His personality has a way of changing, depending on his environment, people around him, and relationships.
In the field, he has the persona of a born leader. Strict, firm, and unyielding, while caring a great deal for those under his responsibility. He would never march his men to near exhaustion, and expect top marks by the end, unless it were absolutely perfectly necessary. (As in some situations, it is) He is borderline paranoid, always mindful of his surroundings, the weather, and other environmental factors.
He has a sound mind for tactics, and while he is frightened by certain things, such as stinging insects, and feats requiring balance - he learned long ago that these fears are best ignored, as you will be expected to ignore them, one way or another.
As a pararescue soldier in the AFSOC, he learned to compartmentalize emotions, especially in high-pressure situations - such as jumping out of a talon over the atlantic into freezing waters.
Outside of combat situations, he more closely fits his Myers-Briggs estimation. He is caring, and emotional, but given to a short attention span when dealing with too many relationships, both intimate or platonic. As such, he quickly grows bored with routine when it comes to people.
Logan is a slave of the thought process. He absolutely loves situations where he is forced to create a new way of thinking to reach an endpoint. Science, especially physics has always fascinated him. It is only a sideline hobby, however - as he doesn’t have time or desire to pursue further education, especially in such a vast area of study. Aside from that, he is not interested in changing career paths this far into his life.
As a bachelor of Political Science, one might think that Logan is a very opinionated political animal, but that is not the case. He is steadfastly neutral in his views. He does not subscribe to the party system, and refuses to cater to one side over the other.
When it comes to other people, Logan is eerily capable at psychoanalysis. Lies and secrets are rather difficult to hide from him. He spends a great deal of time people-watching, at various events, and through his everyday life. He simply makes note of how people behave - giving him a great deal of insight into the inner workings of most minds. Is he telepathic? absolutely not - just intelligent and observant.
As for Logan’s own secret? In his heart of hearts, he is a lonely individual. He is fast approaching 40, and is unmarried, with no children. It is not a matter of public record, that he didn’t choose to retire from the military, as he commonly reports. He failed a psychological evaluation required to continue his service in SG-19. The attending professional reported depressive tendencies.
It is for this reason that he has dedicated so much time and energy into the study of Psychology. He may deny the fact that he suffers from slight mental illness, but he is driven by it's presence, none-the-less. He strives to find out everything he can about the mind, and how to better understand it's faculties. He is dutiful and steadfast on his path to understanding the complexities of the individual.

The crew was quiet today. Jonah looked around the bridge with the eyes of one who's seen everything. Loss, betrayal, fear, and the anger that war can bring. The broad sweeping viewport of the command deck gave him an amazing view of the planet below. Arcadia. It was beautiful, it a surreal way. Thousands and thousands of small lakes crossed the surface. It was amazing, except for the scar. The large desert of flawless glass that covered a quarter of the planet. A memorial to the past. The human-covenant war. It held a special place in the Captain's memory. He remembered it as if it were yesterday. The desperate fighting, bloodshed, and unfathomable odds. The horrors the Covenant armies left in their wake, and the flood. It made his stomach turn.
Jonah Logan. That was his name. He wore every decoration the UNSC could hand out. Campaign medals covered his chest. One campaign medal he wore was only given to a small few. The campaign at Halo Instillation 04. Not the glorious campaign fought by the marines on the ring, but the campaign. His campaign, on Threshold's moon. He remembered the face of everyone that had served with him. Most of them were dead. That wasn't where his career ended, however. It hadn't. Strange twists brought him to earth. It seems he followed John everywhere. In his shadow. The shadow of a better man. The fight on earth was brutal. The fight in space was worse. It wasn't a fight. Until he got there. But then, John had already gone and left, and saved the galaxy, not just humanity.
The cleanup had been messy. He remembered. The Brutes were as dangerous an enemy as the entire Covenant. They refused to leave earth to rebuild. Jenna was the first to go. Sniped while landing a complement of marines into Cleveland. Jonah flexed his bio-mechanical hand instinctively. That was the day he earned it. Some of the brutes retreated in fear at the sight of a spartan. At the sight of Jonah. They ran, for he was the Fuhrer. He loathed the callsign, but it was who he was. One brute, however, he didn't run. Fuhrer put a clip into his chest, he didn't fall. They were fueled by a blood rage. They could hit as hard as he could, even with his powered armor. His shields dropped. Fuhrer broke the beasts jaw with the butt of his rifle. The Brute raised his hand, holding that pistol. A spiker. Researchers called it a 'Type-25 carbine' but it was just like any instrument of death. It doesn't matter what you call it. Twin bayonets, deadly sharp. They cut clean through the military's most advanced suit of armor, clean through flesh. Jonah Logan walked away from that battle. The brute, and the Fuhrer stayed behind.
Sable appeared on a holographic pedestal in front of him. The odd binary avatar appeared to be a young girl, in her lower twenties. Long hair down to her lower back. A blank, soulless gaze. "Captain, Doctor Westinghouse requests launch authority for Charlie-666 from bay 3" Fuhrer frowned. Charlie-666. Just your standard D77H dropship. 70mm Rotary cannon, and missile pods. No, it wasn't. The canopy was repaired after the plasma had bored a perfect hole in it. The same plasma bolt that ended Jenna 'Bael' Riley's life. Jonah didn't appreciate keeping it around. Ryujin, however, insisted. The pilot felt a special connection to Jenna, so, Jonah surrendered, and allowed it. "Sable, give her the green light" he said, almost a whisper. He knew what ONI was up to here, but he considered it frivolous. There's nothing here. Nothing but bad memories.
