The Lieutenant Colonel nodded her head at her husband's words and soon after messing with his shirt she smoothed her hand down over it, absently straightening it up once again. It was a simple act but she knew how her husband felt about his clothes being ruffled - because it was the same way she felt. She often toyed with them though so she knew he didn't mind when it was her or their son. She sighed quietly as she unbuttoned a few buttons on his shirt. "I know it's not Walker." She responded simply. She may have had her qualms with the man in past days, simply because of what had happened between him and Katrina, but she knew that she could trust the man on the field and with not only her life, but her husband's as well.< Tag: Alavair Leah >
She didn't want to dwell on their conversation any longer. It was depressing and since it was already well into the night she knew if they kept talking about it that she would never get any sleep. There was nothing that could be done at the moment and both of them knew that much. Instead she decided to take the conversation in another direction. Her gaze stayed on Alavair's chest as she finished unfastening the buttons on his shirt. "I've been given a new assignment, Al." She finally spoke after a few moments of silence. "As much as I love leading a team you and I both know it's not where my heart is." She was a pilot, she always had been and Alavair knew that she had been itching to get back into the air.
"Jonathon offered me the position of Executive Officer aboard the Odyssey and I accepted." She was unsure of how her husband would react to the news. She knew that she should have spoken to him about it first, but since the ship was the Milky Way galaxy's flagship and was tasked with protecting Earth it wasn't like she'd be going very far. Not to mention she had already discussed things concerning her son with Harrison. She would be on Earth as much as Alavair was, and she was only a beam away from being back beside both her husband and son.
