Lucas & Gracie's Home
Potomac, Maryland
The move had taken a lot out of both parties involved. Packing up not one but two places of residence, loading them into a truck and driving was rough to begin with. Then you factor in having to unload everything and starting to arrange their new home as well as paint it, would leave anyone tired. Lucas and Gracie were still going though, despite it being far into the night. Gracie was finishing up organizing their room now that the paint on the walls had dried and Lucas had put together their furniture. Arranging things and finding a proper home for them could be left in the much more capable hands of Gracie.< Tag: Gracie "Fae" Bridges >
Lucas, on the other hand, was in a spare room next to theirs surrounded by parts of a desk that he was meant to be putting together. He had gotten most of it together but somehow he had misplaced the flathead screwdriver he had been using only moments earlier and was now frantically patting at the papers that laid scattered around him and feeling under everything in sight in search of it. Then he found it. Under his foot. Typical. Right in his line of sight but he was stupid enough to not even notice.
It didn't take him long to finish screwing in the final screws on the desk and he set it up in the middle of the room. It would be a nice little office for either of them. It wasn't anything grand but he didn't need big and over the top. Just a place to call home, to put their things, and to be together when they weren't working. Lucas draped one of the paint 'tarps' he had left over on top of the desk to cover it then moved to pick up the paint can. He had spent most of the day painting and his once brand new jeans were now covered with random speckles of different colored paints, his shirt had been tossed aside hours ago, and he even had paint on his chest, back and shoulders. He looked ridiculous and he knew it.
"I still say at least one wall in here should be orange, Gracie!" Lucas called out, dipping the small paintbrush into the can before wiping the excess off the side. He moved to the corner of the wall and began touching up bits of paint that the roller hadn't been able to get to. He had the trim left to touch up and around the windows and doors - hopefully it wouldn't take too long. He wanted to finish as much of the house as possible before hitting the sack and he knew already that Gracie was in the same mindset.
Moving in together was a big step and they had already butted heads a couple of times over simple things. Nothing that wasn't settled over an arm wrestling match or a beer chugging competition. They complimented each other rather well, and she played dirty as much as he did, but she had the better body to do it with. Damn being a woman - they got away with a lot. Not that he complained much about it because even if he didn't get his way with where something was in the house, he did get to stare at her for a bit longer so it was a win-win situation.
