Arlington, Virgina< Tag: Alavair >Feeling his embrace was something that Ayden had dreamed about for months and as he held her closer, her instinct was to bury her face into the crook of his neck, her hot tears stinging his flesh as they escaped the corners of her eyes. She had tried to be strong, she had tried to keep herself together but her emotions had gotten the best of her. She was at the point where none of that mattered anymore. He was home, he was alive, he was safe, and she wasn't going to let go of him if she didn't have to.
Hearing his reassuring words caused Ayden to nod her head in acknowledgement. "Good. If you did, I would have to kill you myself." She replied, a hint of a smile in her voice as she spoke. As she got more comfortable against him, she unwrapped her arm from around his neck and trailed her index finger along his shoulder then down his arm, just taking the moment of silence to get to know her husband once again. his words caused her to pause her actions and she swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat before pulling away from him entirely and pushing herself to her feet.
"Come with me." Was her simple explanation, her hand reaching out to grasp his and her gaze remained soft. "There's someone you have to meet." How their son had slipped her mind was beyond Ayden, but now that it was brought up, it couldn't be ignored. Alavair needed to meet his child, he needed to know his son, and now, despite all that was happening, was the best moment for that to happen. Once Alavair was on his feet Ayden led him down the hall her back had been to earlier and once they reached the nursery, her hand fell from his. "Inside," She spoke, her voice soft, as she tilted her head in a nod towards the crib.
