History
Personal History: Azalea Andre didn’t grow up in the most ideal world. At birth, the little girl was dropped off at the steps of an orphanage; having been abandoned by the two people in the world that were supposed to love unconditionally. You would think that couples would jump on the chance to adopt a little baby girl, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case for Azalea. Whatever the reason may be, the little baby girl grew up in the orphanage till about the age of five. From there, it was the foster system for this one.
From the age of five on, Azalea was tossed around from foster home to foster home. There was always a reason why it never worked out. Reasons ranging from; the family was getting too crowded, they couldn’t afford to take care of her anymore, they were going in a different direction, you name it, and it was most likely said for this young girl. As the dark haired girl grew up, understanding of her life style came along too, and with that brought resentment and bitterness. From that point on, Azalea didn’t care about having a family and it was most likely her attitude, and actions, that had her tossed around from home to home.
Towards the end of elementary school, the beginning of Middle School, there was a family that stuck around the longest. No matter what Azalea threw at them, they put up with it all. The young woman was always waiting for the straw that broke the camel’s back, but it never seem to come, and that scared her to death. It was Christmas Eve when Azalea left the Thompson home; running straight back towards the life that felt normal of no one wanting her.
The second family that stuck around for a while too in the female’s high school years, and it was high school that opened up a door way of new crowds. Azalea seemed to purposely seek out the wrong crowd, becoming a magnet for disaster. Suspensions, detentions, parties, drinking…eventually drugs, became the world for Azalea Andre. Finally the family housing her had had enough. Quick as a wink, the dark haired girl was sent to Valley Forge Military School where it was either shape up, or ship out. Begrudgingly, Azalea chose to stick it out knowing that freedom would come when she graduated.
During the time at Valley Forge, a teacher saw through the rough exterior of this hard headed young girl. The female teacher practically took Azalea under her wing, mentored and pushed her harder than anyone ever had before. It was a new concept to have someone care that much, but Azalea went along with it. No matter how much trouble she got in, the teacher stood by her. Slowly the grades started rising, and enough the teacher put up a recommendation for Azalea for the Air Force Academy. Everyone was hesitant at first, but after seeing the grades gave her a chance.
In the Air Force Academy, Azalea knew the military was where she needed to stay to have any chance at life. The young woman worked hard, pushing herself to keep the grades up. It all ended up paying off in the end. Towards the end of the year, Azalea was approached by the SGC about the Stargate Academy. At first, the young woman thought they were off their rocker. One, they were talking about other places, races, and galaxies. Second, they were considering her. After the initial shock set in, the female accepted, not realizing the challenges to come.
Entering the Stargate Academy as a 3rd class, Azalea didn’t know what to expect, only to come to find out that the Academy was unlike anything she ever experienced before. The female cadet worked her butt off through the years; proudly graduating, which was an accomplishment not many thought possible. From there, the former cadet went on to do eleven week Special Investigation Field training, falling in love with forensics. Once finishing up the training, she continued studies in forensics, specializing in nanotechnology and microbiology. Upon graduating, Azalea learned of the homeworld branch and quickly applied. For the first time in all her life, she felt a sense of accomplishment and belonging.

Personality: How do you describe Azalea; a young woman that has been through a lot in her life time. A woman that was searching for something, only to find it in the most unexpected of places. She was a female that was once bitter to the world; the weight of resentment was felt upon these shoulders. She didn’t owe anything to anyone after how the world seemed to treat this one. There was always a chip on her shoulder, a grudge held against everyone, and nothing nice ever came out of this mouth. Disrespect seemed to be at the core of who Azalea was at the time. No one ever cared about her, so why should she care about others? No one was ever there for her, so why should she trust and try to be friendly with others. It wasn’t till the Stargate program found her that everything about this young woman started changing.
Working through the Stargate Academy, Azalea’s whole demeanor changed. The woman went from hating the world to making the best of every situation. She use to never care about anyone or anything, and now, she will do anything for a teammate. She has taken her sister’s motto that no one cares left behind, and upholds that to the utmost. When Azalea smiles, it’s a true smile; no longer a fake one that is plastered on out of behind forced to. She likes to have fun, is sarcastic, jokes, but is always there for someone. She is a quick learner and does whatever it takes to prove herself. If you think this girl is now perfect, think again. Her mouth still gets the better of her, still acts before thinking, and really…well really still has a lot to learn. She is still hesitant to go deep with anyone. She will be friends to a point, but still holds back a lot. It takes a lot for this woman to really really trust when it comes to personal life. For as much strides Azalea has taken, there is still a great deal to be learned when it comes to life. The only difference is now she’s willing to take whatever comes.

Destiny’s Apartment
”You little punk, totally beginners luck,” Azalea Andre commented, tossing that cards back onto the already forming pile. It was one of the rare weekends that the raven haired woman had off and, whenever granted such privileged time off, always spent it with Destiny and her unofficial niece, Serenity. Ever since finding Serenity, Destiny was doing whatever it took to make that kid an Andre. The bond between the two was too deep to sever. Now that she was meshed into Azalea’s life, there would be a gaping hole without this vibrant blonde. It was almost if Serenity was the missing piece to the puzzle the sisters had been looking for. Now to make her a permanent part of their lives and they would be set.
”What Auntie A? Just doing what you taught me.” A grin spread across the ten year olds face as Azalea shook her own head. ”Yeah and cost me thirty bucks. What do you need money for anyway? You have an allowance, and two parents that pay to get you almost anything.” Tossing up a piece of popcorn, the raven haired woman leaned back, catching it in the mouth, chopping down, watching as the little girl cleaned up. ”For me to know.” Once again another wide grin crossed the girl’s face, stacking up the cards. The young woman rolled the eyes, hearing the handle of the door jiggle; signaling that the older Andre was home. ”Okay now remember what I told you.” The little girl was shooed towards the door, standing right in front of it as the older auburn Andre stepped through the door.
”Mom…mom…mom…mommy…mommy…mommy…ma…ma…ma…mum…mum…mum…”Azalea bit the bottom lip, holding back a laugh knowing that this had to be getting under Destiny’s skin. An agitated sigh came from the older woman. ”What Serenity?!” The little girl grinned, tiling the head back, staring up at the woman called mother. ”Hi!” Giggles filled the air. Destiny Andre narrowed the eyes annoyed. ”I can assume that your dear auntie taught you that?” Leaning back on the hands, Azalea just shrugged lightly, rolling her neck. ”I can neither confirm nor deny that.” It was Destiny’s turn to roll the eyes, setting down all the stuff she had been carrying. Silence filled the air for a moment as Azalea closed her eyes, letting out a relaxing sigh. For a few moments she just sat there, taking it all in, till a small slimy thing plunged into the depths of her inner ear. ”AHHH!! What the?!” The young woman leapt into the air, wiping away the wetness. Serenity laughed, falling back on the ground rolling around. ”What’s wrong sis? Don’t you like wet willies?” Destiny’s voice broke from the kitchen as the younger of the two glared. ”Ha ha…real funny Des.” Flopping on the couch, Azalea laid back, resting her head on the nearest pillow, watching as Serenity continued to grin deviously. ”Just so you know, your daughter here is a card shark. Last time I ever teach her poker.” Destiny’s laugh echoed as the auburn woman stepped out into the room. ”I taught her well. Alright little miss, you had your fun for the evening. Time to get ready for bed.” Serenity’s face fell, those blue eyes becoming big and soft as the lower lip suck out in a pout. ”But Momma…one more hour?” Destiny’s head shook. ”Nope, you promised when I get home you would head straight to bed. Tell Azalea goodnight.” The blonde girl let out a frustrated sigh before running over, wrapping Azalea up in a tight hug. ”Night Auntie A.” The heart of the older woman melted, embracing the little girl. ”Night sweetpea.” Serenity ran over to Destiny, embracing her as well. The female major scooped the little girl up, placing a gentle kissing on top of the blonde curls. ”Night momma.” ”Night babygirl.” Destiny whispered back, as the girl climbed out of the embrace running off down the hall. ”Only three chapters tonight! I don’t want you up late reading.”
Azalea threw her head back laughing. ”Yeah that is definitely your daughter. If I ever have a kid, there is probably no way she will ever want to read.” Destiny walked over to the chair beside the couch; sitting down with legs draped over the sides chuckling. ”Sometimes it is hard to remember she isn’t my flesh and blood. There is so many similarities between her, Jon, and myself.” ”How is that process going? Any new developments?” Destiny let out a sigh as Azalea got comfortable, grabbing a blanket off the back of the couch and throwing it over herself. ”I don’t ask anymore. Jon said leave it up to him and that’s what I’m doing. As far as I know it’s good, but it’s hard not knowing.” The raven haired female nodded, running a hand down the fabric. ”It’ll work out sis.” The mocha eyes of hers watched as Destiny nodded. ”Oh I know it will but still is hard just waiting and not knowing. What about you? Ready for your first job within the Stargate Program? I hear you’re going to be working with some great people; Ayden Sheppherd, Alavair Leah, Katrina Logan…just to name a few” Azalea shrugged, staring down intently at the blanket that was covering herself. ”Ready to screw up you mean?” the raven haired woman replied back. ”Oh yeah. More experienced personnel to see me screw up.” Destiny kicked at the side of the couch. ”Oh hush negative nelly! Yes you will most likely screw up at some point. Yes you will make mistakes, but you know what? You made it. You have proven you can do this. Now it’s just time to show everyone else you can. If you go in with that attitude you are doomed to fail. Everyone had to start somewhere Az. Just feel honored they accepted you and that you get to work with some of the best people I know; not only in within this program, but in life as well.”
Azalea laid there thinking about what Destiny had said. She knew the older one was right, but it still didn’t stop the nerves from coursing through her. This was it. There was no more training, no more studying. It was time to put to use everything that she had learned over the last four plus years. It was now or never. Time to trust everything she had learned. As true as that was, a twinge of fear and doubt still tugged at her; doubt that wouldn’t leave till deep within a mission. Letting out a small sigh, the young woman closed her eyes, wishing she could past forward time to see exactly how everything would play out. Time would tell if this was the proper course to be taking for the rest of her life; a course that meant no turning back.
