Apartment Complex
When did I become such a hoarder? Note to self; next time I move; focusing on down sizing even more Azalea Andre thought, haling another box up the seeming to never ending flight of stairs. It baffled her mind how one could have so much stuff after moving around to various places for the past few years. It was still settling in that this apartment was going to be home for however long now. This city, this branch of the stargate program, it was all permanent. There was no more training have to be done. There was no more schooling needing to get through. This was it. It was time to use everything that she had been studying, and or, training for to use. Whenever those thoughts started coursing through the mind, panic and fear crept its way in. It was like those two were able to find the self doubt that lingered in the back of the mind. Self doubt that this female refused to let have foothold. Self doubt that she learned to overcome in all those years, but still trying to rear its head. If only the teachers back at Valley Force could see her now. A smirk crossed the raven haired woman's face thinking about it. Jaws would drop. Eyes would enlarge. Thoughts like those made stirred up a bit of bitterness at the fact nothing about the stargate program could ever get out. The reason for the homeworld branch starting up. It was time to show all those alien freaks that earth really wasn't theirs to capture.
While grasping the box tightly, Azalea reached out with the other, grabbing the door knob with a twist, opening the bare room. The box dropped with an echoing thud while a little clink came behind it. "Oh sorry Dobby!" she called out, turning towards one of the few pieces of furniture in the room. A small side table with a small circular wire cage sitting on top of it. Inside contained a colorful shell, green with a silver S painted on it, and a creature slowly crawling back out. Not knowing how much time she would truly spend at home, Azalea didn't want to waste money on a pet like a dog or a cat; the reason for the hermit crab. There was a thought of buying a fish, but a fish was too boring, and usually died too easily. At least with a hermit crab, there was some sort of interest with it. Surprisingly enough, this one has somewhat of a personality to it; as much as hermit crabs could. There was at least another living thing in the building with her. It might not spring up in defense, but hey, it was something. The female Lieutenant was already counting how many days it would last. Apparently, Serenity's only lasted about three weeks, but that was because the little girl kept dropping it out of fear. So far it lasted a week; it was a start for Azalea who wasn't the best at remembering to feed animals, but in her defense, they were just fish.
Glancing around the room, Azalea let out a sigh, heading for the kitchen. "Moving really does take a lot out of you Dobby. At least now everything is inside! All that's left to do is...make it look like a home." She opened the fridge door, pulling out one of the few substances of food that was in there; beer. Couldn't really have any kind of home without some sort of liquor in it. Twisting off the cap, the young woman tossed it into the sink, listening to the clinging metal. She leaned back, glancing around at the mess. Decorating, arranging a home really wasn't her thing. That was more Destiny's forte, or Pinkie's aka Billie from the Academy; one of her best friends from that academy. Years later, the two still managed to keep in contact. A twinge of sadness ached in her heart, thinking about being on a team without Billie by her side. This would be the first team since the academy that those cadets wouldn't be there. Now that was going to be weird. It still felt different being away from the academy; a place that had been home for many years, and now it was time for a new home and team for that matter. "Change really sucks." muttered pushing off from the sink heading back for a small living room. "Alright Dobby, lets make this place....livable, especially if we might have a roommate. Yeah I know I know, but this city isn't cheap; can use all the help I can get affording this place. Now...where to put this." Gathering evidence, studying data, figuring out what happened at a crime scene were all things that Azalea could do easily; putting together a home? Let's just say, would probably take longer than the first assignment she gets put on.
