Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Even though the day was still young, it was already excruciatingly hot as the team stepped off of the jet that had carried them to Saudi Arabia. News had reached Homeworld Command that a journalist was trying to shop a story about a new power source and that it could break any day now. Normally that wouldn't have been of much concern, however command had reason to believe that he was talking about a naquadah generator, something which he should have no knowledge of. They had dispatched the team to find out what he knew, and to put a stop to the distribution of the story if need be.
This was going to be Alavair's first time back in the field since his return to the land of the living, and he had been placed in command of Hoover. He had laughed at the team designations after he had taken the job, although he had to admit that now they were beginning to grow on him. At first some of this team had been uneasy with having a civilian in charge. Their fears however had been laid to rest when they found out his background, especially the fact that he had been honorably discharged at the rank of Lt. Colonel after his return. Now he had no concerns about winning them over, as they all seemed to know the story of his imprisonment for months in another galaxy.
He strode confidently to the waiting SUV, which would take them to the Al Faisaliyah Center where the contact was supposed to be. Alavair had done his homework on Riyadh during the plane ride, and he knew what to expect as they turned onto the street. Even that knowledge however did nothing to stop the feeling of awe that washed over him as he stared at the tower. It was a marvel of modern architecture, and he couldn't help but be impressed. He silently double checked his sidearm, making sure the safety was off and the silencer was firmly attatched. He hoped it wouldn't come to having to draw his weapon, but it never hurt to be prepared. As the SUV pulled to a stop, Alavair emerged into the hot sun. The team was filing out of their SUV, and he headed toward them intently.
”Alright, our target has an office right below the viewing deck. We're going to go in quietly, keep your weapons concealed. Don't want to be scaring the locals.”
