Northwest Washington, D.C.< Tag: Katrina Logan-Walker >Ayden had been just as shocked as Kat was when she found out. "About three days now, not even." She smiled a little, her eyes lighting up just the slightest bit when she mentioned her husband. When Kat came over, Ayden rested her head on her friend's shoulder and wrapped an arm around her. Her eyes closed and she took in a breath as she tried to keep herself together. She shouldn't cry right now, right here. God knows she had done enough of that when she first found out that he was dead, and then again when he came walking back into her life. "I agree. I was so shocked. You know that bastard came to my house, picked the lock and scared the ever living daylights out of me? I heard someone in the house, so I grabbed my sidearm. As I was rounding a corner he knocked it from my hand!" A quiet laugh left the Colonel's lips as she shook her head. "He almost got his nose broken for it. It took me .. awhile to believe that it was really him."
Ayden brushed her hair off of her shoulder when Kat returned to her seat and she reached into her clutch to pull out a tissue and she carefully wiped at the corners of her eyes, hoping that she hadn't smeared any of the mascara she had on. "He caused an uprising and got word out that he was alive." Ayden spoke, her gaze lifting to Kat's. "I haven't pushed him for much more than that. I want to give him time. I wonder if Robert was the one who saved him..." Ayden's words trailed off. If that were the case then she would owe the man not only a debt of graditude but an apology for the resentment she held towards him for hurting her best friend. "He's at home with Isaac tonight. I wanted to give him some time to get to know his son." She smiled. "Perhaps after we're done here we can go and see him if it isn't too late. Isaac will be asleep by then."
