P.O.V. Rooftop Lounge
Northwest Washington, D.C.< Tag: Katrina Logan-Walker >When Ayden had first moved to Washington, D.C., her first order of business had been to find a bar that wasn't too upbeat and noisy or too sketchy. After a couple of weeks of searching she stumbled upon P.O.V. - a beautiful lounge and club that was located across the street from the White House - and the best part about it was that no one without a Government I.D. or international passport was allowed on the Rooftop Lounge. That meant no rowdy college students to deal with. It was a classy bar with the perfect atmosphere.
Tonight Ayden was supposed to meet her best friend, Katrina Logan at the bar and she was more than excited. The two rarely had an evening to spend with one another because of their hectic work schedules, but they finally found time to squeeze in a 'girl's night'. Alavair had wanted some time to get to know his son, so Ayden had a chance to slip out without feeling guilty for leaving Isaac with the Nanny once more. The stress she had endured over the past few months had finally been lifted from her shoulders and she could relax and share a few drinks with a friend.
As the Lieutenant Colonel settled into her seat on the lounge she glanced to her left. There was a beautiful view of the White House from where she was sitting and she took a moment to marvel at it's beauty. It was rare that such a sight caused her to stop and stare, especially considering the countless planets she had been to, the galaxies she had explored, but there was something about seeing the White House that always brought out the child in her. Her father had brought her to the D.C. when she was a girl, and she had always loved the atmosphere of the city, and being so close to the Commander and Chief, who was arguably one of the most powerful men in the world. She felt as if she was transported back to her childhood home for a moment, but the waiter who came over to where she was pulled Ayden from her thoughts.
"Can I get you started with anything, Ma'am?" He asked her and Ayden nodded, not even needing to look at the menu. "I'll take a Rock and Rye." She paused for a beat, "I'm waiting for a friend, Katrina Logan, when she comes can you see that she's brought here so she's not left wandering around?" Her question was more of an order and the waiter nodded his head, obviously used to having to deal with 'powerful' women like herself. Ayden crossed her legs at the ankles and she placed her clutch down on the table between the two couches as she waited for her friend.
