Personal History:
Aiko grew up in rural Japan which is rather uncommon. There wasn’t much for her to do while growing up, so she resorted to taking apart her mother’s sewing machine, television, coffee maker, etc. – you name it and Aiko has probably taken it apart. She was a quiet girl when she was younger, often found in her room hunched over a laptop or in her father’s garage taking apart another household object. Her father wasn’t quite sure to do with the little girl, so a when she was ready to attend school the Tanaka’s packed up their bags and moved to the ‘big city’. Her father got a new job at an office building while her mother stayed home. Aiko attended school like every other child in the city, but unlike them she didn’t fit in very well. She was often bullied and mistreated by her classmates but she never once lashed out at them. She found a way to get back at those who hurt her – and that was by using her brains instead of her brawn. She made sure to never get caught because she was rather careful and thought things through.
She breezed through her compulsory education, graduating two years ahead of time before attending university. She studied for three years, completing a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
There was one time that Aiko got caught and it changed her life forever. When she was pursing an advanced degree in college, Aiko hacked into the Japanese Government mainframe out of pure boredom. The files she discovered were those on the Stargate Program and she spent hours reading over the information she had found. She was so engrossed in her readings that she had forgotten to cover her tracks. For her ‘punishment’ Aiko was involuntarily recruited to the Maritime Self-Defense Force – Japanese’s version of the Navy – instead of imprisonment. Because of her crime she was not allowed to enroll in officer training, so instead she was forced to enlist. Her military career was short-lived however, and when the government found her skills something they could not overlook and she was whisked away into the Stargate Program – more specifically the IOA Field Operations Division. Her involvement with the IOA is top-secret and she is here as a member of Homeworld Command as a Japanese Seaman; an Engineer – keeping up the appearances that the Stargate Program is open to more countries than just America.
As far as anyone outside of the IOA is concerned, she is simply a Leading Seaman (E-3) with the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force, but her true rank is GS-10 with the IOA. They believe that she is simply a pawn for them and ready to do their bidding, threatening her with imprisonment and charges of treason if she betrays them, but only time will tell if she is truly a pawn, or if she has her own agenda. For now she is stationed at Homeworld Command being reachable at all hours of the day if one of the teams need her services whether it be hacking into a system, finding blueprints for a building they're about to infiltrate or digging up dirt on someone else.

She has a keen eye, being able to notice patterns in things that most people wouldn’t spot. She holds a record back home for being able to take apart and rebuild an entire computer system in a few minutes flat, and has been known to spend her free time hacking into government databases. She boasts a fast typing speed averaging at about 150 words per minute. She is fluent in Japanese, her native tongue and language of choice, English and can read multiple languages.
Personality: Akio is a quiet individual but is in no way shy. She prefers to analyze the people around her, remaining quiet until it is absolutely necessary for her to speak. She’s intelligent, analytical and systematic – being able to break down complex problems in her head in a matter of a few moments. She has no interest in building romantic relationships and people have often joked that her laptop is his husband, something that she has been known to just go along with. In school she was often the one picked on by the other children in the class but she always found a way to get back at them, of course in a way that they’d never expect. One time she hacked into the school’s system and changed one bully’s records which got him kicked out of school and it still hasn’t been discovered that it was Akio. Her biggest weakness? Interpersonal relationships: she can barely keep up a relationship with her family, yet alone an outsider so she has been known to be the one sitting alone.
