History
Personal History: Sean's early life was a bit of a mess really. Growing up, he was told his father had been killed in a plane crash. His mother was always in-between jobs, as she had no real formal education except a GED she received after flunking out of high school. Sean, not wanting to follow in her footsteps, excelled in school, although his marks were often at odds with his reckless attitude and daredevil-seeking "fun". In high school, he decided after the first nine weeks of school to join his school's Air Force JROTC detachment. He performed superbly in that as well, despite his initial joining for the easy grade. He quickly learned it wasn't so easy. After getting used to it though, he rose quickly through the ranks, and his senior year was appointed as the Detachment's Special Projects Officer at the rank of Cadet Major. During the first part of the year, his SASI approached him to find out if he was interested in any of the service academies. His reply was that he didn't think a Senator would approve of some of his antics at times. So, Sean put his name in the hat for a SASI appointment to the USAFA, and surprisingly at the end of the year received a letter congratulating him on being accepted to the United States Air Force Academy.
Once attending, the grueling coursework began to eat at him. However upon seeing his mother's failures again, he changed his attitude, determined to succeed. In the middle of his first year, he was approached by General Kerrigan about a special program he wanted Sean to attend. After accepting, Cadet Connolly was told of the Stargate Program and that his new assignment was dubbed "Stargate Academy". Initially thinking it was some sort of trick initiation thing, he went along with the joke, including a visit to Stargate Command. The second the Stargate activated, however, his attitude quickly changed. From there on out, it was one surprise after the other. But the real surprise came in the middle of his third year. Brigadier General O'Neill, then Commander of Stargate Command, summoned him one day. Once at the office, Sean was told that his father was an integral part of the Stargate Program and had been for some time. Blankly, Sean informed the General that there was some misunderstanding, because his father was dead. O'Neill proved that he wasn't, passing over a very detailed record of Colonel Jax Connolly's military service. Stunned, Sean confronted his mother. Her response was "I thought it was best for all of us if you didn't know". Sean moved out soon after. He finally met his father during his senior year.
As one of the first cadets to complete more than two years at Stargate Academy, Sean experienced lessons few service adademy cadets could ever dream of. Upon commissioning to active duty, he underwent the rigorous Combat Rescue Officer training before being assigned to the Special Investigations Unit of Homeworld Command. Following an entirely too high-profile assignment in Paris where cadets of Stargate Academy were targeted by enemy forces, Sean's unit was dismantled. Reassigned to the Operations Directorate of Homeworld Command, Lieutenant Connolly has served on dozens of assignments of an overt and covert nature.

Sean brought the vehicle to a stop and waited for the team to pile out before getting out himself. Walking up to the police checkpoint, he flashed his ID along with the others and was granted access with no questions asked. As the others went directly to the scene of the crime, Connolly surveyed the crowd of rubber-neckers trying to find out what was going on. There was an old lady, squawking to a policeman about seeing the attack, and Sean noted to himself that they would have to interview her later. Most of the others were just murmuring amongst themselves and pointing. To the Lieutenant's right, a couple of shady characters were watching from afar, cursing at the authorities.
Nonchalantly, Sean's gaze lingered on a tall man with a long coat and goatee with dark hair. Something was oddly familiar about the man, though the young officer could not quite place it. Following the man's eyes, Sean saw a man wearing a brown blazer approaching from the west, passing by the Hummer the team drove there. The man paused next to it, his head and upper torso viewable above the hood of the massive SUV, and he glanced around, right at the man in the coat. Shifting his eyes back to the goateed man, a slight nod was seen by Connolly to the man near the Hummer, who turned back the way he came and began walking. Moving slowly around the outside of the crime scene to watch the man go, Sean saw what looked like the strap from a bag underneath the driver's door of the Hummer.

Seeing the goateed man moving away now, Sean's heart skipped a beat and he yelled at the top of his lungs, "Bomb! Down!" The crowd scattered, and Sean turned and hunkered over just as an explosion emitted from the bag, engulfing the Hummer and sending shrapnel in all directions. When the concussion subsided, the young man rolled over and checked himself quickly, not noticing any serious injuries. The screams and yells he heard, however, indicated some weren't as lucky. Staggering to a standing position, Sean drew his weapon and removed the safety in one motion, swinging around to where the goateed man had been, but he was gone without a trace. Connolly looked for the rest of the team and shouted, "SIU! You all ok?"
