Briefing Room 3
Alternate Operations Center
Orson smiled at their leader's slight sense of humor - able to take the Doctor's cracks without getting angry, telling him to be quiet, or trying to continue the joke in an extremely unfunny and uncomfortable way. All of those had been covered by various SGC teams back before the government decided he was better suited to stay on the planet, then go out there and do space forensics. Well - it was just normal science with foreign materials, but his exwife had dubbed his profession as such, and it had kind of just...stuck with him.
Connolly continued to explain what they were to learn - feeling the need to include that the information would be extra important if someone died aboard one of the Earth vessels. Orson narrowed his eyes and rose a brow - but said nothing. His interest was somewhat peaked on why they were here. Enough so to keep the normally chatty man's mouth closed...at least for the moment.
It was only a moment before their instructor appeared - Orson instantly not liking him for referring to the group as 'class'. Though he knew the topic was somewhat foreign to him, he still knew a few of the basics from working at the SGC, and resented the fact that the man was rolling him back to the status of a student. With a Ph.D, he was never a fan of that - even if he technically was - at that moment - a student.
'Oh good there's pictures...' he sighed to himself - leaning on his hand as he heard the door open again. A new kid appeared - appearing red-faced and a bit disoriented. Good to see the best and brightest were in this group. But who knew? Maybe the kid was crazy good with a gun or knife, or could throw things with his mind. With the Stargate Program, you never really could guess anymore.
"Since this is more an orientation than an operations briefing, help me out. What sort of information should I focus on for your particular specialties?"
So far being somewhat successful with biting his tongue, Orson lost the battle before he even knew that there was one to fight, "I'm forensics and don't know how to answer your question without sounding like an ass," he raised his hand as he spoke - using the other one to lean his head on.
Good start, Orson.
