Stargate Homeworld: Unpromised Land

Seeing the Lieutenant Colonel approaching his position with determination, Adam lowered his hands from the calming he was attempting on some of the villagers (thus far to little success).  They did not speak his language nor him theirs, and him getting through to them would be difficult enough under the best of circumstances.  Turning in the direction of his team leader as she gave out her orders, the man nodded curtly and called over the din of the crowd, "Roger."

Hopping down from the seat of the bench he had been standing on, Collier accepted the bowl that was offered to him and the makeshift brush, looking down into the deep red contents of the wooden vessel.  Moving quickly toward the first building, the Lieutenant dipped the cloth-clad stick into the blood and swirled it around, ensuring he obtained a good coating before raising it in front of him to the first entrance threshold.  Starting a broad stroke, Adam smeared the lambs' blood across the doorway as he recalled from the Bible passages.

Feeling the adrenaline rise within him, Collier finally felt like he was contributing something to the mission.  There had been plenty of missions he had participated less than this but this being a 'rescue' operation, he had prepared himself for something ... more.  Shrugging it off, he finished painting the frame of the door and jogged toward the next one, noting that Jackson was coordinating with other members of the team and the elders to facilitate the dispersal of the villagers.  It all seemed to be coming together ... but how much time did they have?
