Joint-Base Andrews
Camp Springs, MarylandLucas wasn't a man that usually did things like this. He had traveled to Maryland after finding out that Gracie's post had changed. Her file had come across his 'desk' within the past week and he found out she was joining the Stargate Program. He always made sure to read into all the personnel files of those he would be working with and the moment he saw Gracie's name his heart lept in his chest. He had been bad at getting back to her - between his training and induction into the program and the mission he had been sent on just days prior, he barely had time to eat, let alone write a letter.
But now here was he. He had traveled to Joint-Base Andrews in search of Gracie and with his security clearance it didn't take him very long to track her down. He had been told that Gracie was at one of the airfields so that was where he pulled his truck up to. He climbed out of the pick-up and pulled his leather jacket on before slipping his hands into his pockets. It had just occurred to him that he should have stopped for flowers on the way. That would have been quite corny, though, and he wasn't even sure if she liked flowers.
He quickly opened the door to his truck and he climbed back inside before starting to rustle through some things that he had. His weapon, car registration and insurance papers, a lollipop, and an air freshener. Hardly something you could give to a woman you had failed to write for three months. He was already failing this 'mission' he had put himself on. Lucas puffed his cheeks up as he climbed back out of the car and he ran a hand over his face. He had to calm himself down. As he glanced at the car that he had parked beside that he knew to be hers he looked it over. It wasn't anything over the top, it suited her.
Lucas began to twist his fingers together as he paced behind his truck. She should be coming here at any moment and he would be waiting. It just dawned on him how creepy that could be and he scrunched his face up as he groaned. What was he doing here? He was going to scare her, or make her think he was stalking her, or something of that nature. It wasn't a good idea, was it? He sighed softly and leaned against the side of his car.
Lucas had done his best to clean himself up for her. He was in a new pair of jeans and had went with a nice pair of loafers instead of his boots. He was wearing a clean-pressed, light blue dress shirt that was tucked in, he had a black leather belt on, and his leather jacket. He was clean-shaven - far from what she had seen on their last encounter -and he had even went as far as getting a haircut. He doubted it mattered much. Who would say she would even want to see him after what he did?
